The Potions Cauldron Group makes every effort to ensure that its attractions and retail outlets are accessible to as many visitors as possible.
However, due to the location and nature of some of our buildings, there may be some challenges for some visitors with disabilities, medical needs, and access needs. The Potions Cauldron Group is in line with the Equality Act 2010.
We are committed to ensuring that every visitor has an enjoyable and safe visit, whenever possible. If any visitor has issues or concerns that are not addressed below, we recommend emailing the following, and a member of our team will be happy to assist.

Due to the nature of the building and fire restrictions, wheelchairs are only allowed on the ground floor. Wheelchair users are welcome to play the first two holes free of charge, then wait in our tavern (subject to availability) with a complimentary hot drink until the rest of the party has finished.
Mobility Scooters are welcome in our tavern area.
Carers are free at The Hole In Wand, York. Please bring proof with you, which can be a carer card or similar. We understand not everyone will have one, so a letter, etc, will be considered. Carers who are available are there to support the person playing; however, please note that carers wishing to play will need to pay an upgrade cost of £2.49, which includes a magical potion.
We have an accessible toilet located on the ground floor near the tavern. It is equipped with a red cord that should be activated in the event of an emergency.
We welcome all guide and assistance dogs into the venue. Should you require a water and bowl, please ask a member of the team.
We provide ear defenders at all times as we play a soundtrack specifically made for the venue, and the golf balls can sometimes make loud noises when struck against surfaces. We also run specific mornings where we offer a quiet hour. Please check our social media for the latest dates and information about our events.
Sensory bags are available to borrow if you need one while playing golf. You can also download our visual story here: The Hole In Wand York Visual Story
We have seating in our tavern area. If you require a seat elsewhere in the venue, please ask a member of staff.
All staff receive training through Welcome to Excellence’s course, ‘Welcoming All’. This provides our team with greater tools in welcoming guests with specific and additional needs.
Our staff are undertaking training to become Dementia Friends.
