Our crazy golf isn't like your normal mini golf. Each hole at The Hole in Wand York has it's own story and riddle. Can you solve the riddles, score a hole in one and find the Grobblenook? Once you know what fate awaits you, make sure to Book your spot.
Many years ago, there was a powerful potion-maker and enchantress - Agnes De Molay. She helped cure the poor people of York with her magical potions and spells from her pub - the Hole in Wand! Soon, the drink den's dark and dirty rooms became the most popular spot in York.
Agnes decided that she needed a potion-making assistant to help her. One day, while walking along York's misty Shambles she looked up and was confronted by a hideous site - one of the Minster's stone gargoyle was staring back at her. Inspired by this figure, she quickly concoted a transfiguration spell and created Grobblenook!
Since then, witches and Wizards travelled far and wide meet the magical duo. But sadly, the Grobblenook isn't the best with directions and often finds himself lost within the hidden entrances, secret rooms and magical mirrors of Agnes' home. Can you help find him? Armed with a Dragon's Egg and our guide book, you must solve the riddles at each of our holes.
Drop your Dragon’s Egg into your choice of the two tankard start points, and see where it lands! Then aim for the hole under the table.
Hit your Dragon’s Egg from the tee, towards the loop-the-loop. Aim right, and it’ll go round the loop and straight into the hole!
Pop your Dragon’s Egg into the cauldron stack pipe, then aim towards the cauldron. Hit it up the ramp, and into the hole.
Take a break and wait for the Wizards ahead to move onto their next challenge.
Step into the painting and place your Egg on the tee. Aim to hit it up and over the roof, into the hole. It’s the perfect spot for a group photo too!
Step through the curtain and send your Dragon’s Egg rolling gently down the corridor... Aim for the mousehole but watch out for the eyes in the dark!
Send your ball into the root spiral and try to get your Dragon’s Egg into the hole in as few shots as possible.
Drop your Egg into the fountain and see how far it goes! Then aim to hit it up the ramp and into the hole in the bottom drawer of the cabinet.
Aim your Dragon’s Egg through the portal and down into the sewers... There are two ways to get through to the hole but it’s tricky!
