Leeds Course Guide - What to expect

What’s unique about The Hole in Wand Wizard Golf?

Don’t be fooled. Wizard golf isn’t like your normal mini golf. Each hole at The Hole in Wand has its own story and riddle.

Obredon was the dragon of Lillith Blackthorn, the most evil enchantress ever. Her hateful ways had a profound effect as he became more powerful than other dragons, influenced by her magical malevolence.

When Blackthorn was banished by wizarding legend, Phileas Fry, Obredon waged war upon the Wizard’s Guild, entering into a nine year battle with Dragon Master, Nattie Turnabout. One day, he thought he had breached their walls but the protection surrounding the Guild held the dragon in limbo, so seizing her chance, Nattie piped an enchanting tune on the Flute of Ulula, lulling him to sleep. Fighting the magical trance, Obredon struck Nattie, compromising the spell. She feared, instead of eternally sleeping he would one day return with a vengeance.

400 years passed, when dark magic stirred him. Obredon vowed revenge on The Wizard’s Guild, so hunting the new Dragon Master, to Gawthorpe Hall he cast a vanishing  spell. Still too weak to complete the spell, Gawthorpe was shrunk and is now protected from Obredon by fairy magic.

Obredon lay in the shadows, practicing evil magic, becoming stronger than before, fuelled by devouring the eggs of water dragons, used to play Wizard Golf. As his strength returned, magic owls were seen throughout Leeds, offering an eye of protection to the city.

Your quest is to locate Obredon’s lair and enchant him into eternal slumber. Strike your dragon egg firm, stay under the watch of the owls and collect the letters for the secret word for an extra charm of protection. Good Luck!
