Long ago, Chester was a hub of magic where witches, wizards, and potion masters thrived beneath The Rows. The Wizard’s Guild kept order, but rogue sorcerers still defied the Laws of Incantation – none more so than the cunning Randolf Bollingbrake.
When an innocent imp witnessed his dark magic, Bollingbrake cast a forbidden spell, turning the imp to stone and banishing him forever. In doing so, he exposed himself, leading to his eternal imprisonment within a portrait.
Now, the imp’s fate rests in your hands. The Wizard’s Guild has chosen you to journey through time, uncover the Secret of the Unicorn, and break the spell. Armed with your golf wand and a magical dragon egg, you must navigate the enchanted course and set the imp free.
Succeed, and the legendary potion-making gargoyle, Grobblenook, will reward you with a potion for your bravery!
Behold the infamous Randolf Bollingbrake, banished with the Wayward Wands under the watchful eyes of history’s greatest witches and wizards. Place your dragon egg on the tee and aim for the mouse hole at the bottom of the cabinet in as few shots as possible. But stay sharp - Bollingbrake will try to distract you!
Welcome to The Potions Cauldron! Place your dragon egg into the hole on the right-hand cabinet and watch as it tumbles down the chute, dipping into the cauldron before landing on the floor. Wherever it rests is where you must take your shot. Beware of the bubbling cauldron and listen carefully to the Potion Master's wisdom!
You've been magically transported to Alderley Edge! Follow the mystical stone trail in search of the Unicorn. Send your dragon egg rolling down the course, steering clear of the boulder. Putt with precision, and let the enchanted horseshoes guide you to the next stage of your quest!
Your quest has turned South to The Bridestones, an ancient and sacred site steeped in magical energy. These towering boulders stand as guardians of the land, so navigate your dragon egg carefully between them. Wait for the perfect opening, then take your shot. Aim for the mouse hole and tap it in.
The Bridestones have transported you back to the old mine workings around Alderley Edge. As you approach the mine’s entrance, an ancient tree stump stands before you – a sacred site where travellers once made offerings for safe passage. Place your offering within to earn the protection needed to ensure safe passage through the darkness.
As you step into the mine, you find yourself in an otherworldly realm, deep within the Earth’s core. The darkness is disorienting, so tread carefully! Focus your aim on the mousehole beneath the Unicorn’s hooves and don’t forget to ask politely for some Unicorn Essence. Remember, you’ll need to cast your time travel spell.
Our Unicorn friend has transported you west, safely landing you atop Chester’s famous city walls. As you arrive, the magnificent Eastgate Clock stands before you, marking your next challenge. Send your dragon egg rolling across the ripples of time and space that stretch ahead. Once you reach the clock, turn and carefully guide your egg up the ramp and into the mousehole to continue your journey.
In an instant, you’re swept into a whirling tunnel of time and space, where shadows of the past and glimmers of the future swirl around you. As you hurtle toward your destination, keep your dragon egg steady as it navigates the chaotic maelstrom.
Stay focused, aim for the mousehole, and whatever you do, don’t lose your way!
You are hurled from the time portal into one of Chester’s grand ancient buildings. Before you stands a magnificent stained-glass window, now tainted by a devilish trickster – the lingering curse of Randolf Bollingbrake.
To break the spell, charge your dragon egg with positive energy by placing it into the hole in the column to your right. When it reappears, guide it up the ramp and into the mousehole to push back the dark magic.
